the above print is entitled The Responsible Woman, by artist James Christensen
I realized recently that I had bought into the false idea of sometimes needing to go the ‘extra mile.’ You know, the concept of pushing past the point of expectation, discouragement, fatigue, depression. Challenging yourself to redefine what you think is personally possible, what is within your realm of abilities and maybe even interests.
What I have found is that when I’ve approached that ‘extra mile’ marker, sometimes there is even further to go. And I’m tempted to think to myself. “More? There’s MORE?”
So I have decided to give up on my understanding of “distance.” Instead of relying on my understanding of the ‘extra mile,’ I am trying to say to myself (and my Father in Heaven), “I’ll go as far as You need me to go.” I have the knowledge and faith to know that when I give Him my feet, my hands, my heart, He will point me in the direction I need to go, strengthen me for the journey, and be with me all the way.

Super Woman does not exist…..one of the hardest lessons for Moms to learn.

TOTALLY off the subject..as I’m listening to K.D. Lang…whom I LOVE…. on the iPod your sister “C” gave me (she got a new one)..HOW can THAT voice be matched to THAT face????????? Miracles never cease!! xoxoxoxoxo
Wow, Mom, that started out really nice and then ended a little…random.

Opps…sorry! It was just that I was doing two things at once! The first part of my comment is really the only IMPORTANT part…the last part…just an observation!
