It became necessary tonight to enter these terms into Google Search:

“7 year old + swallow + pea-sized metal ball”

  3. The answer to Lissa’a question: No!!! :) It seems like all the “excitement” started after I left! My guess is “This so shall pass…” xoxoxoxoxoxox

  5. Sorry, Stacey. I posted a few months ago about my son possibly swallowing a tiny piece of glass. We took him to the Children’s Hospital. Know what he did next night? Swallowed a penny.

    Hubs took him in to the ER that time, and they took an X-Ray (which my darling boy was very proud of) with the penny in plain sight. They said it would likely pass through without a problem, and only come back in if he has any abdominal cramping. (He didn’t.)

    So try not to stress too much. If a penny can go on through, surely a metal ball will make it out without a problem.
